I grew up in Bothwell and spent the first 25 years of my life there. There are many great walks around my old village.

You made it to Blantyre! Leaving Strathclyde Park is indeed a nuisance. You can head up through a field on the Blantyre end side of the Clyde to rejoin the old Clyde Walkway

On a clear day, it's possible to see Ben Lomond & the cobbler from the front of Chatelherault Lodge.

That big round tower reminds me of Caerlaverock which we saw last week. It was a nice day too! We had a great 11 day trip.
