Hamilton Ventura Elvis80 Skeleton Dragon

I’ve been wearing the SS Elvis80 for over 5 years, got a Ventura open heart two years ago but it doesn’t give me the joy my Elvis80 does so when I saw the dragon I knew what my next watch was going to be, came in today, can’t wait to get home and unbox. I think the Elvis80 is the best looking watch out there and makes the Nautilus and Royal Oak look like a Soviet brutalist designed parking garages.

I love the mid-century modern look of the Ventura, and this one is clearly special. I don't know whether the dragon is the one for me, but I'm going to take a closer look at the line…

I'm in the market for a ventura, but I want it to fit similar to my 35mm Santos. Can you recommend a model or do a ventura model comparison?

I'll check inventory and see what we have. Is there a specific model you would be more interested in. From memory several of the smaller models are quartz. Are you opposed to those?

Among the Ventura models, the base Ventura that is the copy of Elvis's 1950's Ventura wears the smallest (but the case is kind of thick), the XXL is in between, and the Elvis80 is the largest but because of its unique shape, it is over 40 mm at the wide end, but on your wrist that is the wide part of your wrist and it narrows going back, so it sets down in the depression behind the wrist and wears much smaller than it is.

I like it, think it’s a little overpriced, would want to get plated true rose, also think it would be cool if the eyes showed up on lume. Really cool piece tho

Which power ranger does this belong to? It's morphin time 😂 Looks unique, but no markers whatsoever kind of makes this impractical as a timekeeping device

I'm the opposite, hate boring round watches that all look alike. After having Seiko's for years, when I went Swiss I didn't want something that, unless you are right on top of it and see the name, looked like a Seiko. You know a Ventura from across the room.

@@wmurnahan Indeed... and it's almost like a brand within a brand, with its own subculture. I wouldn't buy the skeleton version, but I might be tempted by a mechanical version. It would certainly enhance my funeral outfit! I rather like rectangular watches actually, like the Tank, Reverso and offerings from Longines, Oris and Moritz Grossmann... 🙂🍻
