I think you need to invest in a air compressor, probably cheaper than a window screen, or a head, 😅 doing a great job be safe, also we used to put the spanner on the nut and drag vehicle forward, only car's but the princable, the same, all the best to yous and your loved ones

I once worked as a tireman and as a rule of thumb is "IF it dose have Left handed threads only the Left side of the rig will have Left handed threads and SHOULD have an "L" stamped on the stud and lugstud.(made in China - not always marked) Loved the video 😁 suggestion : scratch the rust scale off the threads with a wire bush before you get started taking the lugs off. It don't help to knock them lose but it dose wonders to keep the lug nuts and lugstuds from gaulding and seizing, then you will need to buy another tool.🥺
@robgm6926
@robgm6926 2 жыл бұрын
I don't remember if it's the same on the big trucks, but on cars and pickups the left handed lug nuts had a little notch in each of the angles of the hex half way up.Easy to distinguish from the right hand thread nuts. Like you said the studs had a L stamped on the end. Used to have a tool to break the lug nut loose from the lug stud if they were seized together. Lost it years ago.

That is a 10 hole ball-seat style wheel or also called stud piloted. The taper on the lug nuts centers the wheel. Virtually everything in the last 20 years is PHP10 or 10 hole hub-piloted. The hub centers the wheel. I would want to spread the load on that bottle jack a bit better. Some timbers or a plate would make it more stable.

Just took an OSHA 30 Hour course, and now I see safety in a whole new light! So many stories of workers doing lil mistakes that get them hurt or killed. How about using a piece of pipe to jack up that truck, leaving your BODIES from under & away from the truck? Would hate to see you guys get hurt!

I don't know that it;s a good idea to pull those rims off the axle while Wiley is kind of under there jacking the rig up. Hank? I had a jack broke on me while I was jacking up a bus one afternoon. ,. The front axle was on the ground before I jumped with fright from the burst.. Only 12 tonne bus.

Thanks for another great video Hank and Wiley. It was interesting and enjoyable as always. Way to go you guys. You got it as always. You made short work of the cleanup and getting the truck where it can be loaded. Get your tires switched around and you are home. I must admit I never saw a breaker bar pulled by a strap and a pickup. New one on me but the button line is it worked. Way to go Wiley. Ya!!!!!!! Being a veteran myself, I sincerely appreciate you helping out this older veteran in getting his truck to him. Great of you both to help him with getting his truck hauled. Good people in this world and Hank and Wiley are two of them. Proud of you both. All for now. You take care and be careful. Looking forward to the next video. Thanks for everything. The Iowa farm boy. Retired Air Force veteran. Steve.

Those wheel lug nuts I used a 10 foot pole and 1 inch drive socket, and it was a pain with rusted nuts/studs. I even broke a 4 way lug wrench that was made for big trucks. That's a tough way to get the wheels off. It worked, just a tough way to go.

Good i hope he can enjoy this truck for very long time.. Btw This is the 2nd time that i saw you while doing this, you are pushing down tools/ breaker bars while you grabbing it tight, don't do that, push them down with your palm especially while you are using your body weight, in a sec you can lose your fingers or hurt them badly. Wrenches or breaker bars can slide out easly or nut can come off too fast and then you will hit your fingers to the surface or somewhere else. Safecty is 3rd i know that :)

No blood is a good video. The boulder hole had a hydraulic hammer that needed rebuilt and the shop there was going to try it. It had 4 bolts in the corners about 2 1/2 inches across and a nut at least 4 inches across. They cut a wrench out with a torch that'd fit the nuts about 5 or 6 feet long, hooked a chain on it and hooked it to the 966 wheel loader bucket that I was running. I took a strain on the chain and they LEFT! I was looking right down that chain and pulling E A S Y. It loosened the bolt but they sent it back to the factory for the rebuild. It had been rebuilt there by a factory rep and used a torque multiplier with a 1/2 inch drill motor. It got done over the weekend and was able to break boulders again monday morning. You and Wiley are a good team. What goofy thing one of you don't come up with the other one does. BLESSINGS!
