Hamlet Monologue - "To be or not to be" by William Shakespeare

This was a speech that I resisted taking on for a while for a couple of reasons - firstly, it's a tad cliche.. 😬 everyone and their mum knows this speech and so to do it and not be instantly compared to any number of great actors that have smashed it is nigh on impossible!
Secondly, it is such a powerful and emotionally evocative speech. As the subjects of suicide and male mental health have never been more important than now, it felt really vital to me to perform these matters with sincerity.
Because of both of these factors, my idea for performing it was to strip away any theatrics. I wanted it to be real, and to hopefully demonstrate how Shakespeare can apply to our modern day just as well as any other artist. Hope you enjoy! Would love to hear your thoughts. 😊
