Thanks @ej5204, I sure appreciate the comments and the reel offer but why would you want to give me something you could use yourself?

I was in the south end on the 27th and the same thing was happening with the redfish, probably saw a dozen or more all slot sized fish but they were not remotely interested in what I was throwing. Landed 2 small trout about like yours, I guess it's the dog days of summer for reds. lol... Nice Black Drum love hearing the drag sing...

I agree, reds have been difficult these last couple months. Looking forward to some cooler weather later this year.

Very nice Jeff! Beautiful Black drum. I was north of you in Edgewater and caught a small slam and a couple of snappers on a paddletail. Bite shut down around 10. Love all your videos!
@JeffHammerFishing3 ай бұрын
Thank you. Were the snappers legal size? I always enjoy eating those when possible.

@@JeffHammerFishing only 1 was 10”. Didn’t keep it, but love them as well.

i went there earlier today, i also caught a huge black drum ! (26 inches) liked the video btw! :)

Nice! They are fun and a far better fight than their red-skinned cousins, for fish of equal size. Were they still schooled up?

Cool video man! New sub here. Avid bass fisherman getting into salt water. I have a pelican 10 foot boat with a trolling motor. What ramp could you advise i could launch from and get on some fish close by?
@JeffHammerFishing3 ай бұрын
Thank you! None of the lagoon ramps are very far from fishable water, so you could use any of them. Most of them will require you to cross the ICW or a main channel to get into the backwaters though, but if you don't mind that, Kennedy, Riverbreeze or any of the north CNS ramps would do. Beacon or WSEG will put you right into the flats behind the clinkers, so you could start fishing almost immediately. Eddy Creek is low traffic on the south end, and you can fish all around the immediate bay and the SE shoreline and islands without having to cross much open water. Good luck!

Thanks for the video, Jeff. I always think of the blacks only being around in the winter. Looks like surface grass isn’t as bad up there.
@JeffHammerFishing3 ай бұрын
Lots of grass for sure. Thick enough the fish can completely bury themselves and hide.
