Thanks for sharing. I have been listening to LBC since its launch in 1973. Loved listening at all hours of the day. Some amazing hosts and inspirational callers over the decades.

Remember staying with my brother in Sunningdale in the early 80s and hearing the top of the hour jingle at 4.22, stuck in the memory forever!

Hearing the fantasticly exciting melody again, I'm greatly struck by the feeling, the remembrance of what an extremely small circle of thought I had in the '70's. Also, all the assumptions then subsequently discovered to be laughable, which made it such ! an innocent world, such as: if it's ' on ' the news, (the tv.and radio), it must be true; if it's ' in ' the news, (newspapers), it must be true; all the presenters were good, honest, decent men; all the politicians were, of course, patriotic, it's just that they differ about what's best for the country; the West is right, because it's the West, not the East; state ' education ' followed by years of drudgery during the rush hour may be vile, but its natural, it's right, obviously. Full of evil things though the internet may be, too, at least nowadays anybody who questions the world's mainstream values, its accepted ' truths ' is properly listened to, and is able to be heard; back before I switched all mainstream media off, such people were ' timed-out'; their calls to radio stations ' unfortunately ' not selected, coincidentally; subtly laughed at, by mocking presenters, in mock politeness, and a summary " Right, well, thank you (whoever) from Bonkers Brook; you weren't a university-indoctrinated automoton, so just be glad you were given a minute or two, as light relief from those who merely tolerate your life on this Earth ". To show how successfully moulded, and I mean moul-de(a)d most are, after all the exposures, and with lifes materialistic dissatisfactionns greater than ever, since so many have been achieved, and have also only further dissatisfied, still it all carrys on. Yes, if only we can keep the values we've always had, and keep moaning, and keep re-electing the same people, no matter that they do, It'll all be all right in the end !

I loved the old days of LBC I used to listen as a teen. So many great names and personalities, sadly it's not like it used to be.

In the current Jingle 2023 what does "play lbc" mean

Think it means you talk to your device and it switches on. I preferred the days when we had light switches instead of all this computerised rubbish
