What oil pattern are you throwing on? Basic House pattern yeah ball will hook, Sport shot not so much...

Why do they even make balls like this? Really of very little use to the normal league bowler. It might be fine on heavy sport shots, but otherwise what's the point? What we need are more balls tailored specifically for house patterns. Cores and coverstocks that can kill it on blocked house shots with lighter oil.

Agreed. I bowl a sport shot league in a house a few towns over and a house league in my hometown alley. My home house is higher friction and I don't even bother bringing my Proton with me. Solid asyms are way too strong for that house in general. I bring one asym and sym pearl with me and that's it. My sport shot league usually lets me stay in my Proton the entire set. These kind of balls are just too strong for a good majority of conditions out there.

I have the Envy I only use it in my PBA Experience league, and in tournaments. In my house league I'm throwing plastic for my strike ball, and a urethane on the occasional cross lane spare conversion. I Agree with the ball reviewer it has some similarities to the Redemption solid, but its a little stronger than the Redemption, and I can use the Envy on a wider range of sport patterns. With my Redemption I need the pattern to be 43 feet or longer. In way you are right the Envy is not a good standard league ball for most bowlers. You can put up some impressive scores on a heavy oil sport pattern. Especially if you are a lower a medium rev bowler.
