Magic Factory 1/48 A-4M | 5 Minute Review

Never heard of Magic Factory but this looks like a sweet kit. Can't wait for the build video!

They're fairly new, had a few smaller releases, then hit it big with their F4U corsair and now the A-4.

Good review! I just finished the kit and you highlighted most of the pro and cons. It seems like the kit was designed to be display with everything open - thus closing doors and nose like I did required a bit of work. The doors does not sit perfectly flush with the fuselage and the nose require some carefully dry fitting. Cockpit looks very nice out of the box! The vinyl belts are a bit gimmicky, but look decent when fittet. Be aware the upper avionics spine is in 2 parts - so sanding, scribing and re riveting will take a bit of time. The weight included was enough to keep the wheels down. Most of the parts do however go very well together and it builds up nice! I would definitely be up for building another variant!

This appears to be an outstanding product. Hasegawa's 1/48 A-4's have been the benchmark since their introduction and still are superb, imo, but this offering from MF will certainly give big H's a run for its money. Modellers now have two exceptional 1/48 Skyhawk offerings to play with. Very good summary.

Yeah, I know the Hasegawa kits have dominated for the last few decades, but yeah, I think this is a huge step up.

great review! Its awesome to see MF include all those extras that you normally have to pay for separately. Whilst the A4 is not a subject I'm interested in (unless it was possible to do an RNZAF version), its still great to see modern manufacturers listening and acting on feedback and having some forethought on later AM parts (eg, the blank instrument panel - that's a really nice touch I must say).

Looks like a fab kit, only slightly confusing part is the 2 in 1 stamp on the box, which just means that there are 2 possible configurations rather than in their recent F-4 where you get enough plastic to make 2 whole models
