A group of three or more crows is called a "murder" of crows. So if there are only two crowd, it's called "attempted murder." ☺️
@Khalagata4 жыл бұрын
LOL. I love the joke, but did you ever hear why it's called a "Murder" of Crows? Occasionally a murder will gather out in a field and one crow will be in the center, hopping, flapping and cawing raucously. The rest of the crows watch until it's done then they will do one of three things, caw and flap themselves, fly off silently or peck him to death. Nobody knows why this happens, the best theory I've heard is that he's telling a story and they either praise, ignore or criticise, but this practice is why it's a "Murder." Now can anyone explain why a group of Ravens is called an Unkindness?

A tool that I've found really handy is one that I assembled. I took apart a smallish slide hammer, Mated it to a very long grade 8 bolt plus a steel sleeve to fit over the bolt. The slide fits over the sleeve. Screwed that long bolt into the back end of a 10" Vise Grip. That slide-hammer Vise Grip pulls out cotter pins, nails and stuff that no other tool will.

I usually watch your videos right away when you release them, but somehow I missed this one when it was new. This morning it came up in suggestions, which made me realize that there hasn't been a new one for some time. I looked at your channel, and realized that it's been over a month. I sure hope that you're OK, and can start making new videos for us all to enjoy and learn from. God bless!

Thanks for commenting Andy... I am OK... thanks for your concern. The long delay for new videos is entirely technical issues: audio recording gear fail, editing software glitches and cloud storage syncing combined in a perfect storm and shut down video production almost completely. I've managed to get a couple things done for Patreon but they're more blog-ish requiring less time, energy and resources than full-on KZbin stuff. Putting finishing touches on a dialog-free build video which I hope to upload in the next few days. It's a fun build but, without dialog, there's no jokes or puns this time around but stay tuned for when things are back up to speed? Best, Matt

If you can toss the hammer up, flipping it twice and spinning it three times, then you're hired. I think they call that a double flip/ triple axel combination. Other than me, we don't have anyone that can perform that trick, and I only do it occasionally as I'm walking from my tool chest to the car I'm working on. "I have too many clamps", said no welder, fabricator or carpenter ever. I believe the same holds true for hammers. Growing up, the family hammer was a mid-sized Estwing claw hammer with the straight claw and the blue rubber handle. That's what I became accustomed to and still prefer all steel hammers over a wood handled ones. I recently bought a small Estwing ball-peen hammer and was surprised to find that the exposed steel was coated with thick metallic blue paint and a thick glossy clearcoat. Nothing a wire wheel can't fix someday. ";-) My machine-head ethos regarding tools is that coated steel is dishonest steel. I know that's extreme, but that's my conclusion. Love the humor too. And to think, all these years I read it and said it as Eastwing, not Estwing. Glad to have it right now.
@NextLevelCarpentry3 жыл бұрын
I think my collection of Estwing ball peens has that blue metallic coating and, uncharacteristically, I think it makes 'em look sharp and I like it. It will all get abused off of them in time and I can take a 1" wide belt sander to give 'em that traditional Estwing brushed steel look we're both so fond of...
@twwtb3 жыл бұрын
@@NextLevelCarpentry Brand new, they look great, like a custom automotive finish. I could keep it waxed and on display. But with use, not so much. Even the face of the hammer has the thick clear coat. I'll enjoy the look while it's nice, then I'll make it look like a real tool after it gets scuffed up.

No pin/second fix hammers ? I have used those straight claw hammers for demolition and rough framing, but a traditional claw hammer will do more, different jobs, for instance when installing solid blocking with skew nails you can strike into a smaller space, they are much better at taking nails out too, cos that’s what they are for.
