There is nothing the Ruger is doing that Sig hasn’t done already with modularity. Springfield XD has been around longer and has an impeccable track record for the triple crown of reliability, accuracy, and quality…RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX!! @PCUser-m4u29 күн бұрын
@@Sirgromulus I'm not talking about the propensity for the vertically tight trigger guard to pinch finger between the end of the trigger and guard, but recoil induced kickback through the trigger that can be painful over the course of hundreds of rounds. I've smoothed the stock CZ trigger, tried two versions of the HBI and have the Overwatch Precision in it currently. I've tried hard to eliminate the problem, not merely wished for it to go away. I do love the P10C otherwise, but they differ in this regard example to example. If you get one of the worse ones it's impossible to eliminate the bite. It's a very accurate, reliable and ergonomic gun that is my primary chrono mule, but not my favorite shooter. My Grand Power Q100 Mk23 is another sweet gun with a similar characteristic, and my Echelon is better but not perfect this regard either. My XD Mod.2s and Mod.3, custom P80-based G22, and SW Shield M2.0 40 or Shield Plus have no bite whatsoever and are more more comfortable for long range sessions even in 40SW or 357 Sig rather than the my P10C, Q100 and Echelon, all being 9mm.

I've used the Magpul and Glock and KCI mags no issues. I prefer metal mags like the Springfield. My Ruger Americans have the metal mags. My Springfield has never had a hiccup as well. I've got a full-size Echelon I paid 550 for because I couldn't find a good deal on another XD Mod.2 and didn't think Springfield would produce any more XDs. While it's a nice gun, I do prefer the Mod.2 or 3 even at the same money. When you consider you can buy two Mod.3s for the same price (I paid 270 at the same LGS I bought the Echelon from), the Mod.3 is a fantastic value regardless of what you compare it to. You just have to do your comparison at the range ;) There are a lot of good guns out there to be had. I had a Walther PPQ, and still have a P80-based G22 with a Johnny Glock trigger, the Echelon, a CZ P10C, a Grand Power Q100 Mk23, two XD Mod.2s, a Shield M2.0 40, a Shield Plus, and now a new Mod.3 in my striker-fired collection. These are very good guns, but a Mod.3 is as good or better in stock form and with the addition of a PRP Easy-Fit trigger and titanium trigger safety plunger is actually the best of the lot for 400 including the parts.

Good comparison. I love older Ruger pistols, but IMO Ruger’s focus today on being the lower price option in the pistol realm has resulted in lower quality in comparison to years gone by. The RXM may prove to be excellent, but outsourcing the frame, while eliminating the R&D costs, is another symptom of Ruger trying everything possible to manufacture on the cheap. Years ago there was a car company called American Motors. They had some interesting products but limited cash forced them to manufacture on the cheap for many years until the company expired. I hope this doesn’t happen to Ruger at some point in the future. And this from a guy whose EDC is a Ruger LCP Max, but mostly due to its small size and high capacity.

I've only ever had an issue with my Mod.2s when picking the gun up and attempting to rack the slide with an incomplete grip to safety check. When you've got a full firing grip on the gun it's not an issue. One of the changes to the Mod.3 is an extended grip safety lever that eliminates this tendency. PRP makes an extended aluminum lever that appears to be the model for the new Mod.3 part. Considering the PRP unit is 59 bucks and that you get its goodness, the optic cut and the improved slide profiling and serrations included with a Mod.3 for as little as the 270 I paid for mine, there is no better value in a mid-size double-stack 9mm handgun.

It's nowhere near as slim as a P80, perhaps due to the fire-control module. It just doesn't feel good in my hand, but of course we are supposed to overlook that for the privilege of owning something like a glock ;). I am also put off by the fact that they don't like OEM glock mags as well as the included ones. The XD Mod.2 and 3, however, feel sublime in the hand. I have two Mod.2's that I love, and the awesome price of the Mod.3, along with its optic cut, more profiled and serrated slide, and improved grip safety lever make it a no-brainer at the 270 I paid. While the Glock parts universe is nice, XDs don't need much. I just sprinkle some PRP trigger parts on them and everyone I let shoot mine is amazed at how well they handle and point, as well as how much better my PRP-enhanced triggers are than their Glocks.
