This one time I shared the Hammock song 'Mono no aware' on Facebook for everyone to listen. This woman posted a comment saying 'what's so special it's just noise'. I couldn't believe how ignorant she was about it, I felt sorry for her not knowing what true music sounds like. Yes there's no lyrics, but your imagination is like the lyrics of the stories in your head.

That's why I started becoming selfish and kept good music for myself and shared it only with people who'd appreciate it instead.

The concept of music is so boxed in for most people nowadays... they will rarely appreciate the emotions conveyed and really, genuinely hear what they're listening to, just accepting it separately without comparing it to something else they're used to hearing more often. The initial reaction is always to be prejudiced prematurely, I wouldn't hold her to blame for it. I like to think Hammock's songs bring out a very specific type of nostalgia & emotions out of people, as if they're linked to a distant, beautiful memory we all share. When people tell me they don't like the music, I just assume they haven't made or found that memory yet, but they surely will.
@nostalgicpetrichor77827 жыл бұрын
Sadly most people want to see silly video clips with meaningless lyrics to like it. Don't worry if shallow minded person was negative about a genuine piece like Hammock. They might can hear, but not listen :)

The film clip and song made me tear up, it made me reflect on my little ones and their innocence to all the garbage and petty bickering in the world and, how tragically, they are growing up and will soon loose this. I wish I could protect them forever from the evils and greed of this world.

When I listen to it, I feel like I am traveling to the past, where everything was better, healthier, full of peace and love, where everything was more transparent and I remember the best of my childhood, but at the same time it lets me know that I am arriving at the place, where I've always wanted to be.

This is what I want to say about this beautiful, tear-inducing emotional track!!! The composition makes you rethink your life, reboot, clear your mind!!! and so, listening to it, I came to the conclusion that I want to keep my soul clean, and not in the dirt, like a pig, so that I can then go into eternity with this gentle, very beautiful composition and a pure soul, into eternity, where there will only be love, joy, freedom, where there will be no lies and pain!!! All the best and health!!! 😊

Eno is a whole other exploration of layers and sounds - even in his pre-ambient days. Eno is genius in all respects and decades ahead of his time. However, Hammock and Lowercase Noises have found their own niche and are truly unique, deep and sometimes very dark. Love it and all their textures, pedals, filters and treatments. Hammock is a must have! cant wait until the album is released at the end of the month.

When I listened and watch the video .. I remember my childhood .. I remembered the duck that my grandmother bought me .. It was beautiful and put it in the sea and let her swim in the sea until she got away from me, I was too young I could not catch because I did not know swimming only crying .. Really saddened me .. Unforgettable memories and keep entrenched in my heart..

And just like that, a memory had flooded my thoughts like an ocean with too much sea. A memory that had been placed on a bookshelf, intended to be read again, but never to be found. Nostalgia found its way into my thoughts, like a door left ajar. And I remembered the boat that, found me, how could I forget?

Always when I listen to one of your songs, I get a pure emotional first impression, so... It goes like this. It feels like a fire still burning the remains of years past, when the dark and chaotic distortion between denial and forgiveness creates a static moment of relief filled up with hope covered with the reality of a lone human dispair. Then, a pacific moment at the end of the song, "sings to my soul" how could actually sound an emotion of... just "letting go" all the pain and misery within me, like embers turned into ashes forever lost in memory. This makes me think that when you look into the eyes of your inner demons , you get a glance of light, meaning that what you're actually seeing is your own "nature", the light of your own reflection in the water at night.
