This is brilliant! You can literally have a system with one piece of webbing with this around a tree and a becket for the hammock connection.

I was thinking about trying this out with hammock straps after the KZbin user "First Class Amateur" did his video _"Tarp tension system"_ using the Portuguese bowline a few months ago. That's the knot you're using in this video as well, correct?

not sure , I have to look that one up , you can do this a few ways with two loops , but this way works best in my experience ...this concept is from the soft link and halyard knots from sailing...
