Driving through wilderness, storms of sorrow and bitterness, driving home on this lonely, awkward journey after too many wasted years; and to find he is no longer there; to walk the streets as we once did long ago in 1997.; holding him in the cold winter. The emotions this song evokes, are different than my 7 years old comment before. Still as beautiful as ever, only this time I’ve experienced losing the starlight in MY own eyes. The end of him is too much to bare.

Damn bro I'm 25 and I feel you too. I'm right there with you and I wish u well. Can't believe this crazy ride that our world has taken us on, with technology and violence and just total nihilism controlling our lives. I'm curious how you're doing now with these feelings. I feel them caving in on me too, but this song makes me want to try to hold on to the things in my life that are still beautiful. Wish I could find answers that would make it easier though..

The whole album is fantastic, and the track before You Lost the Starlight, How Can I make you Remember is the perfect prequel to this track. Infact I added the EP Asleep in The Downlights to Chasing Shadows to make my perfect playlist of over 2 hours. Asleep in The Downlights features Steve Kilbey and Tim Powles of The Church, and being a fan of anything Steve Kilbey does is how I discovered Hammock.
