TheLastCrusader22 I work at a VW dealership, and my father has been a mechanic for 45 years. We both know for a fact that almost everything from Europe is nothing but shitty electrics and unreliability. If VW got the electrics together they would mostly be brilliant cars, it they haven’t, so they aren’t. Opel are just shit, Audi are glorified VW, Skoda are povo VW, Alfa are shit, Fiat are shit, Peugeot are shit, Citroen are shit, Renault are shit, Land Rover/Range Rover are shit, Jaguar is shit, etc. So don’t try to tell me otherwise. I love driving the VW cars, I’ve never driven nicer cars in my life, but that doesn’t change the fact that the electrical system kills the enjoyment of ownership

Breakdown causes: - May's Aston Martin | Wouldn't start (possible electrical problem) - Clarkson's Toyota Hilux | Again, wouldn't start (possibly the fuel injectors/ignition module failed) - May's Cadillac DeVille | Yet again wouldn't start (alternator charging issue) - May's Lamborghini Uracco | Died on the highway (He said it was an electrical issue, as he said the Italians were terrible at electrical systems, most likely that the wiring harness was badly damaged due to age) - May's Lancia | Another breakdown (transmission quit working and starter solenoid quit working; big electrical and mechanical issue) - May's Peugeot | Breakdown on main road (misfiring and lack of power + transmission issues caused the car to stall) - Test driven super car (idk what brand)| Multiple issues (brakes decided to fail + clutch fried itself) - Clarkson's Ferrari | Breakdown on racetrack (overheated most likely due to too much power or the intercooler failing) - Clarkson's Silver Car (idk what brand)| Big issue (brakes had 'broken' ; most likely a rotor split or the brakes simply locked up) - Clarkson's Motorhome Citroen CX Break | Warning light (Either a transmission/power steering line had split, creating a diarrhea-looking substance in the engine bay) - Hammond's Maserati | Gear changing issues (caused by worn clutch plate, clutch not engaging, or the pedal not being tensioned enough, maybe even a worn synchro) - Hammond's Black Car (idk what brand)| Engine issues (sabotaged by Clarkson and May by unplugging several electronics and removing a fuse) - May's crane lorry | Coolant leak (caused by the radiator hose either wearing/not tightened down properly) - Hammond's Ford Fiesta| Breakdown (deliberately ran out of fuel to prevent himself from entering the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone; part of the challenge) - Hammond's yellow car (idk what brand) | Smelled like it needs a picnic (obvious oil leak or burns too much oil) - Hammond's Toyota Landcruiser | Breakdown (starter burned up + engine possibly locked up) - Clarkson's Lancia Stratos | Breakdown (Front left brake decided to jam on) - May's BMW Convertible | Mega breakdown (Overheated, tappet noises, pistons fused, radiator spilled its guts) - Clarkson's Convertible (idk what brand) | Breakdown (removing stupid extra rear wheels + misfire by spark plug blowing out of its cylinder) - May's motorcycle (idk what brand) | Breakdown (simply ran out of fuel) - Hammond's Dune Buggy | Serious issue (he cooked the clutch!) - The Crew's Hovervan | Quite serious breakdown (Starter wouldn't work because it was submerged in water) - Hammond's Triumph Dolomite Sprint | Quite dangerous issue (throttle decided to hang wide open, probably caused by floppy/snapped cable) - Hammond's Ford Mustang | Steering breakdown (power steering line decided to split itself, causing loss of steering fluid and smoke on exhaust manifold) - Clarkson's Rally Car (idk what brand) | Quite an interesting breakdown (exhaust holding bracket(s) decided to give in, causing the exhaust to drop and scrape on the ground, getting him black flagged for the vehicle encountering yet another complication) - May's Ford | I didn't know what this issue was (possibly a camshaft locked up, but judging by the smoke, it suggests that one of the gaskets had split) - Clarkson's Small Car (idk what brand) | Weird breakdown (possibly the fuel pump decided to quit when the car is stationary) - Red Toyota Hilux | Would you call this a breakdown? I do genuinely wonder if when they did their used car challenges, they had them checked or MOT'd to make sure they were at least either safe or road legal. Only that out of all the faults or breakdowns they've had on their trips and challenges, none of them have ever been ones that are genuinely dangerous or unfixable most of the time.
