Jaguars KZbin seems to believe Liam Coen is first choice for thier HC job, with Salah in 2nd place. So Salah could still get it but the feeling is they want an offensive coach. We will see what happens!!

Most teams these days want offensive minded coaches, but the Jags defense was really bad last year so they could be looking for Saleh to fix it. But ultimately their big investment is in Trevor Lawrence, so they probably would go for an offensive minded coach to get him to reach his potential.

Honestly if I was a coach I’d be looking at HC jobs with no state income tax, even as a DC so Saleh may still sign on there as one. 🤷🏼‍♂️ Just a thought

This year on a eastbound red eye i had almost the same thing happen. Out for 2 min..they would have diverted but we were 20min out of ATL. paramedics came on at gate and wanted me to go to hospital. My thing was my vagus nerve got triggered by the stomach issue. Scary

I don’t know I think the 49ers accepted the fact that Staley is he backup, because they interviewed 1. Saleh 2. Townsend 3. Staley. That pretty much satisfies the Rooney Rule. So even though they don’t like Staley as first, it seemed they accepted Staley as backup. Because if they don’t they would hv another person. Unless Saleh told them 99.9% he would accept.

The 49ers should have hired Dennis Allen. Absolute best case the 49ers get Saleh for 1 or 2 years and then ge gets another head coaching job if things go well. Worst case, Saleh gets the Jags Job and now they've wasted the only upside of missing the playoffs which was getting to start the hiring cycle first.

Getting Salah will not de-age the already too old roster. Getting Saleh does not solve the bloated contracts on veterans who are past their prime. (Cutting Deebo is NOT an option.) Getting Saleh does nothing to the amount of money that must be dedicated to Purdy...money that was used on an elite roster.

I don't think the jags hire Saleh, they want/need an offensive mind to help their paid QB Trevor Lawrence and Saleh just helps with the interview rules/leverage with who they do hire. But it is a big gamble bc you never know they could just hire Saleh, even if it's unlikely.

Wouldn’t Saleh prefer this scenario to secure a head coaching position next year? He needs to lead a defense with players who can propel him to success. Unfortunately, the Niners lack the necessary talent. Bosa’s speed has diminished since his initial league-leading performance. Greenlaw’s injury status remains uncertain. Can he recover fully from his injury? Will Ward be fully recovered and at his best next season, or will playing on an injured team hinder his performance? It appears that Huff has been released through free agency, leaving questions about the overall performance of this defense. Can the Niners accomplish a complete rebuild within a single season? Alternatively, will the defensive coordinator be the scapegoat for Kyle’s errors, as has happened in the past two seasons?

I mostly agree that I dont love the all in approach on Saleh and it could bite us. But I don't agree with your perspective of the Jags 'opportunity'. Yes, there is no predicting what jobs or the quality of them that will come up. But you generally only get one failure at being a HC before the phone never rings again. The next HC job Saleh takes could be his last. In the meantime, he is being paid a Jets HC salary next year, and if there are still no appealing jobs next year ,he would basically be highest paid coordinator while he waits for a good job. For him to take Jacksonville would likely be a big mistake. I was initially far more worried about Dallas which is more custom fit for him, but I think Jerry was just giving him a rooney interview.

As Niners fans we are stuck with his way of thinking. He just doesn't adapt well to situations. If he has one more bad year, I hope we move on.

I think Pete Carroll is still looking for work. He interviewed in Dallas and no hire there. Maybe Carroll doesn't want to return to SF as a DC. I'll throw a name out there that no one is talking about; Ron Rivera. He's Fangio's age. And I think Rivera could be very good as a DC and he's a bit old to get snatched away for a HC gig.

Brandon Staley was an elite DC last time he was a DC -- he led the number 1-ranked defense in the NFL, and he was so good that he was able to get a HC job. He could be Kyle's Spagnuolo: elite DC, bad HC.
