Hampton Loade Foot Ferry, Shropshire

The Hampton Loade Foot Ferry crosses the River Severn, connecting the villages of Hampton and Hampton Loade. This footage was recorded on 12th August 2013.

Went camping and fishing with my 5th form mates (Year 11 as they call it now) in the summer of '76 (the big drought) at Hampton Loade. The ferry was there then and run by two old ladies (well they were old to us) who may have been sisters. They sold homemade jam on the journey over the river. What a great time that was.
