I was thinking about this before, and it's amusng to consider that we go on vacation with family, only to make elaborate and time-consuming preparations aimed at communicating with someone other than them once we get there. 🤣

Is it possible to get a complete list of the antenna components Their website does not seem to package it all like that

I had a shorter than average time to edit this and my video was over exposed in parts, so sadly, that didn’t make it in.

Such a beautiful beach! Looks like you had a lot of fun. That Chameleon antenna looks pretty snazzy. I gotta try that one of these days. Cheers and 73 from MN, KF0QNM ❤

So cool and I heard you sniped a cancellation - gotta do that! Dang, Chameleon's stuff just works so well. I think I need to play radio at Crystal Cove for Winter Field Day...us SoCal folks only suffer with paying to live here, but we do enjoy it...😉

I want the exact same antenna set up you have there but I am a little lost. Does it come as the POTA kit or do I have to add more accessories such as tripod, bag, etc?
@HamRadioCrashCourse2 ай бұрын
It’s the adjustable vertical, the tripod and the radial whip kit. I believe I gave the vertical and radials linked in the description.

@@HamRadioCrashCourse Are those Chameleon radials or did you design them?
@ReggieRG2 ай бұрын
@@dougdaniels @HamRadioCrashCourse I am also interested in those, is it the DIY kit that you modified and added your own stainless steel whips to them? Maybe you have a video about them and I haven't found it yet. I looked on the CHA web site and did not find those hard-wire stainless steel radials. Thanks!

Noob here, why is everybody 5 by something? It sounded like some people weren't coming through clearly, so when would you say they are 4 by whatever (or worse)?
@HamRadioCrashCourse2 ай бұрын
The first 5 is subjective based on the operator and the radio they’re using. Feel free to give the number you think their received tone is.

Yaw, know.... I would but there is a billion Sad Hams here in Eastern Tennessee in Southern Virginia... They don't let you on their frequencies... Even during the emergencies that we had with the hurricanes. They would not allow you to help or or talk on there repeaters or frequencies...
@HamRadioCrashCourse2 ай бұрын
Honestly, I don’t think you know what you’re talking about. No one is be persecuted by sad hams. Go watch my interview with two of the net ops from NC. I think a few stories got the airtime and people ran with a persecution story. Further, Parks On The Air is more or less an HF activity. Your local hams will have little effect on you.
