Steve is a great guy. He came to our CQ Blind Hams techzoom and touched the heart of alot of blind hams. With his commitment to accessible products for less than capable hams.

Steve is a great guy. Had to send my AL-705 Magnetic Loop antenna in for repair because I thought I blew the capacitor out. He called me after it was fixed and let me know it was on the way back. He also discussed that it was stress tested as well. It's not everyday that an owner of a company takes the time to call and inform the customer what is going on. I'll be buying from them again. In the past, I used an FMJ Alpha Antenna for more than a year at the home QTH. Had to contact support for an apparent issue and Steve replied directly and was very responsive and helpful. (Turned out to be my own fault, my home-cut coax had a short.)

Excellent presentation. Would like to hear more about this company. I hope that you're able to acquire some of their products for test and review. Thanks.

Looks like a great antenna. I was just on their site. One of the best antenna sites out there. A lot better than Wolf River. With the Wolf River site I have to put on my Linux hat 😅😅😅. Thanks for providing such great videos Josh. I really appreciate it.

Very informative. I see some options to placate my HOA and still have HF in my life.

I had a neighbor that had an Alpha Antenna on his RV. My smaller budget was the only reason I didn't get one then (and now).

Josh, I'd like you to get a "demo unit" of the HOA antenna and post your observations.

@@HamRadioCrashCourse I think you've built enough influence that manufactures should be providing 'demo' products to you to review so that you shouldn't have to buy stuff!!!

I just purchased the HOA Buster. Of course, we are not allowed to have antennas. Steve is very responsive and I'm excited to get on the air after a long hiatus.

How do you like the HOA Buster? I’m thinking about getting one. I’d have to install wires at the corners of my gutters also.

The HOA busters seems interesting, I wonder how the noise level would be when you use the gutter as antenna. Probably about s9 😢

A coworker of mine ordered one at Hamvention and should have it this week. If I can remember, I'll post his impressions here when he has a chance to get it on the air.

Question Nothing to do with this vid, is the a major difference between the UV-5R 8W and the BF-F8-HP. I just received 2 UV-5R 8W for my Bday, I have multiple UV-5Rs and 1 BF-F8-HP. Thank you in advance for any info you might be able to provide.

I been eyeballing the 2 To 20 Meter Portable 7 Band Antenna by alpha antenna to go with a yeasu ft-891 when I pass my general. If military use them I figured it would be a great portable set up for me. 73 KQ4HCU

I bought an Alpha antenna as a radio amateur newbie for a high price. It wasn't great and isn't great six years later compared to my home brewed and multiband EFHW antennas. You can make an effective antenna yourself for a fraction of the price of these antennas. They will work as well or better than store bought ones. The same advice goes for other manufacturers as well. Maybe if you want a yagi-uhde antenna you might consider buying one. Caveat emptor!

The "HOA Buster" looks enticing as a DIY antenna install for people with very steep roofs.

Lol "its like legos" = modular. Nice antennas but some don't seem as portable as some of the full portables. These seem half way between a permanent and portable Verity.

Oh dear! A dipole (which is balanced) fed with co-ax, needs a balun i.e. balance-to-unbalance transformer! (Unless you want the co-ax to radiate or couple some of your RF into the ground, nearby objects, mast etc.) I regret that Alpha seem to need to do some more homework... (( 😛
