Hamsterley Forest eMTB Ride

So first things first. Update
Not sure when this happened, but somehow I broke the 200 subs mark! Thank you all so much for sticking around when I have been very absent from YT for the past year.
Most of you will know, Joe and I moved to a new property and shock, first world problems arose, there is no mains broadband here, not even BT would supply us as they said it’s pretty useless. This means we have to rely on mobile broadband which isn’t great at the best of times. Then my GoPro is on its last legs. I got some cheap batteries for it from Amazon but they aren’t the best, and I’ve become increasingly frustrated with the whole shabang. This is also why we haven’t managed to stay up to date with my YT friends channels as streaming is sketchy at times.
Our normal everyday life has also been very full on, with both our work being super busy, personal lives also super busy, friends visiting, trips, losing mojo, training courses and the list goes on. Then when I got the Marin eBike, I was loving getting out on the bike again, and basically spent the whole of winter riding. I’ve tried several occasions to film for YT, but I’ve either not been bothered, or I’ve found it hard to find my flow with filming. Jesus I completely forgot how to use the video editor it's been that long!
The eBike - Marin alpine trail e2 2024. This wasn’t the eBike I set my heart on. I’d demoed a few eBikes that I liked and was stuck between 2, Specialized Levo and the Whyte 160 MX, and somehow ended up with the Marin. Basically I did my own head in, Joe’s head in, everyone’s head in about what eBike to get! In the end I went into the shop and got this. Joe rides a normal mountain bike which is a Bird AM 9.
Those unfamiliar with MTB FAQ:
Trail Grades: Grading of trails are used to determine how easy or difficult a trail is, bit like with skiing/snowboarding. Green is the easiest, Black is the hardest in terms of trail center's, but bike parts can go to pro level or orange.
eBikes: eBikes are pedal assisted bicycles. They use a motor to assist with the resistance of when the cranks are turned, making it easier to pedal. eBicycles They should not be throttle powered or go over 15mph, this makes them an eMotorbike.

Yay! GO DEE! You smashed those trails 🚵‍♀️🤩👊. The winter spent riding has clearly paid off, looks like you are the Marin are made for each other 🫶. Pete and i loved this vid, great to see you and Joe back out again doing what you love, and back on YT! You have been missed! Congrats on surpassing 200 subscribers too🥳. Hey real life gets in the way of YT sometimes, happens to all of us👊. Would be great to see some more videos in future, your chat and bants to the camera always gave us a good giggle 😃. It's taken a lot... I ain't going to lie. There's been lots of bits to stabilising my joints and my poorly hand to get even remotely close to this pace. Strava says that I'm hitting my old 2019 times (before losing the love for MTB and mojo) but it's been 7 months of grafting. It was loving the looks of the Marin at first site. This is the shortest bike I've ridden for years, and it's taking some getting used to. It's making me think about my position and riding skills a lot more. I've missed YT so much. When we have enough signal I try to keep up if we can through the potato vision 😂 Now I can sneak my laptop into work, I should be able to, and once I get my new to me upgrade GoPro. I feel the bants weren't the usual, I wasn't expecting to feel good enough to post to KZbin, but I can always send you an insta link to a video of the absolute crap I do talk when clearly I'm concentrating on anything else but riding 😂

Hey Alan! Thank you 😊. There were a few moments when I was riding I'd have liked more brakes 😂. It's the first time in a very long time, I've felt that good on a bike. So I'm going to enjoy it while the confidence is there

It's not my usual kinda video, it was a very spur of the moment to upload to KZbin. eMTB's are just like normal bikes, just they have pedal assist, which only works when you're turning the cranks, so it makes life so much easier if you're all about the fun and not dying up hills... Like me 😂.

So that explains why you weren't responding to me shouting like a mad woman 🤣. I've only been back riding about 6/7 months. Getting used to an E-Bike is taking a lot longer than I expected but very much loving the change.
