Nice video with detailed instructions on how to use your amp meter to set bias. Great job.

On the CW bias adjustment, would it be better to set the radio to straight key mode to get continuous output?

Hi thanks for the video. I've just bought one of these. But confused on how you charge it up does the radio have to be switched on. And how do you know when the battery is fully charged. Thanks Geff 😮

Yes good point I will find out .

Definitely DON'T just plug the 13.8v ( 12.v) into the charging point.. you may overcharge the battery! (and battery go BOOM!) The original charger has the charge limiting built into the charger - it says it is 12.6V 500ma , but it has current limiting built in , and , as the battery voltage comes up the current goes down and when it is charged it turns off ( there is a status light on the charger..

Thanks for the advice. It's worth doing the video on. Happy New Year 2024.😊

Just received mine - the "orange one"....really great. The charger (see bellow, do not replace it with a pure voltage driven power-supply!) even had a EU plug add on. Now I will start calibrating the PA BIAS with a dummy load and an oscilloscope - while doing that I also can double check the PWR display of the AT-100M Pro; I also have seen that there is (in the orange box :-) the choice of a 2-tone SSB modulation for calibrating the drive..mic...compression with an oscilloscope - so I guess I don't even need a tone-/function generator. Really really lots of things put in coding that are vy helpful. So far I got what I wanted, I already have the uSDX (not the true one), but for me a bit to tiny and more knobs besides the menu-only is very helpful as well as the battery. QRP is fun - and when I get frustrated I take my 48 years old Yaesu FT-101E :-) For sure we have to honor the original inventors/developers!

320ma + 500ma = 820ma NOT 920ma The way you set the CW bias is not correct, you need to establish the "base" current with no modulation but you measured while keying so you do have modulation. Your CW bias is way too high. It is easier to just set the bias in SSB and set the CW bias to 0 so that it will use the main bias. Else you use the base bias from SSB (in your case 320ma) and set the CW bias as 320ma + 500ma = 820ma while keying. If you keyer is set to paddle, like yours, you cannot get an accurate measurement as it is jumping around. Set it to straight key, only one paddle will work, hold it for a solid key and then adjust.

@@HamTechRadioScannerDrones Does this mean the video is inaccurate? If so then take it down and correct it. You are positioning yourself as an expert here after all.
