Wow nice, I have just started at 51 years old , but wonder if I’m too old. I will be practicing self taught for 1 hour a day . Have you got any tips what to learn first , any information would be grateful 🙏 thanks

@@davidcollins4227 Hi david. Thanks for your message. I would advise anyone starting to learn the piano to concentrate on two things: playing with both hands together and learning to read music. But I think by far the most important aspect of good piano playing is 'musicality'. Notes are like words. To make any sense at all, words have to be organised into phrases and sentences with pauses in all the right places. the same is true of music. I have heard so many pianists play pieces note-perfect but in a totally unmusical way. Real music doesn't come from the notes in front of you (that's just a guideline), no, real music as an artform comes from inside you. Try to play what you feel. Hope this helps
