It is little known that Jebediah Buttfuque kept a diary during his time in the 3rd Carolina Heavy, it's kind of bland, just camp life, and being marched back and forth, trying to sleep on rainy hills, sneaking off with a river ferry girl for cornbread, but it's does have some good anecdotes that shed some light on the real Han Seng, "Deep South Han" kind of humanizing what has always lived in history as a legend.

You laugh, but Eng and Cheng Bunker, the original Siamese twins, retired from the circus in 1839 and settled in rural Wilkes county North Carolina, later moving to Surry county outside of Mt. Airy. They bought slaves and in 1843 they married two sisters. By 1847, they had 7 children between them. Altogether, they ended up having 21 children. Two of their sons, Christopher and Stephen, served in the Virginia cavalry during the war...
