OMG…what a beautifully talented skater!!! What is amazing about Hana is that, although she is already 17 and she hasn’t really competed internationally very much, she is already a complete skater that could place very well internationally in the senior ranks. In fact, the world has not seen such a COMPLETE package in the recent years, with SUPER strong fundamentals, steady/deep/agile edges, superb speed and ice coverage, an amazing range of musical interpretation/expression, and airy and crisp jumps w/ good technique.

I am wondering why such a talented girl could not attend a big international competition so far. ( I know it’s because of Corona but… it’s been a long way) I felt her resolve to win here from this performance. And I am really happy that she won here and finally started the way to become a figure skating star. Anyway Congrats 🎉 and I wish her a good future.

As you said, Japanese skaters were not be able to attend to JGPS last season because of the COVID situation, so that's the main reason why this was the first JGPS for Hana. However, she has already landed 3A cleanly, both internationally and domestically (as long as I remember). She is such a talented skater, and I wish her a good future too.

It may be also because Japan has a really strong main senior team, and the competition is really tough
Great and magnificent, a clear winner in this competition. Want to see her more internationally!

So pleased Hana could shine because Russian girls are not here. Do I miss watching those thrilling quads? Not really. I enjoy and admire her superb skating skills and solid non prerotating jumping techniques. A rising star for sure! So is her training mate Ayumi :-)

I agree. To me, the best part is that I don’t have to see skaters from “that country” getting 8s and 9s across the board in PCS-with their flat, sluggish, and shallow edges, slow and limited ice coverage, busy yet generic choreography, and so on. Plus, all the GOEs!!! +4s and +5s for jumps that are clearly completed with visibly incorrect technique… Somehow, judging suddenly makes sense when “that country” isn’t involved.

Wow that performance was so angelic I wasn’t expecting the 3A but it was still so good
Planets + Princess Leia's Theme. I have a feeling that there more SW character themes since Adam Siao from France did his iconic SW medley last Olympic season which he slayed it big time.
Finally win because there are no Russian ladies* But I love Hana and Ayumi

I can't agree with you, Hana is very good, no doubt, but here are not many strong girls, and a competition with Russian skaters (not Etery only) could be much better.
