Well now, the singer on the left is the guitarist on the right - Matsuri. She’s a little bit genius. This was also Sae on drums who has since been replaced by Chika. Sae is cool though. Bassist is Hettsu and the tiny loud one is Yukina. They have done another cover that they also owned - Believer by Imagine Dragons. They differ from Nemophila in their covers as they really put their mark on them - they are totally Hanabie, almost not so much a cover at all. Hanabie = Harajukucore = 🔥🔥🔥🔥

They're covering the song "Odo" by the vocalist Ado. Japanese musicians will often dip into their culture's deep literary tradition. "Hanabie" is a spring season-word in haiku poetry; "ado" is a term from kyogen, a theatrical genre with ancient roots.

This is honestly probably my favorite cover of all time!. There are not to many songs where i can say the cover is better than the original, but this is it. And i am even a ADO fan. Hanabie. is actually awesome to deep dive, Their story is so humble.

Hanabie has two main singers, Yukina and Matsuri. Matsuri also plays guitar. In this video you see her twice. Sometimes also the bassist Hettsu sings.

For me, Yukina steals the attention with her quirkes. Please check out the original song (ADO -ODO). When you mentioned Yukina and Mayu together on stage, this has happened. Last year in Japan Nemo and Hanabie did a show together. Yukina sang the song Zen with Nemophila playing.

Fun fact: Matsuri is considered the “leader” by the rest of the members, but she considers Yukina to be leader. They are both original founding members of the group along with Hettsu as well.

Matsuri IS the leader. And Yukina the “face” of the group (which is kinda obvious as a front woman) Matsuri is the main creative force, and the one who’s a metal fan.

Yeh, Matsuri kind of confuses things here by appearing in the video twice: clean vocals in the top left frame and guitar in the bottom right frame. Total riff monster. You can still see the MTH influences even now in her single cut guitar and emphasis on killer riffs rather than lead solos, kind of similar to Ryo's role in MTH. Yukina is, like Mayu, smol but devastating. Hettsu on bass. Everybody loves Hettsu and Hettsu loves beer. This is the drummer who left. That role is now filled by Chika, who you see in the videos from 'Tousou' onward.

Hanabie is a four piece. Yukina (vocals and growls), Masturi (guitar and clean vocals), Hettsu (bass and very rarely vocals), and a drummer... in this video Sae, in everything from "Tousou" and newer Chika. BTW Ado (Ah-doe) is a faceless (well, has an anime avatar) dance pop act.

Other comments have explained, who is who. Unless I have missed it, I don't believe you have viewed Reiwa Dating App Generation? As with this Ado cover song, Sae, is on the drums in the MV. Hanabie have covered a song by Imagine Dragons, called Believer. It is audio only. As a suggestion for you, record your reaction to the original and then continue with the Hanabie cover. 😀
