Can anybody please explain to me, what this kind of dancing does mean? I guess, it´s something coming out of history?

Can anyone tell me what this dance/festival celebrates? The men with nose blocks presumably means they are divers? The women with their hats suggest they work in the fields. But, their clothing would not be suitable for that.

Is this dance style from Okinawa? Has a certain historical signification? It sounds really good..

It is not from Okinawa, but from Tokushima in Shikoku island of Japan. It's said this dance started about 400 years ago, but the exact origins are not clear. One theory links its origin to ancestor worship festival called Obon in Japan. Another story states this dance started when a local ruler who build Tokushima castle about 400 years ago allowed the peasants to dance in celebration.
