not sure if you still check these comments but I'm trying to fix my strumming technique and don't want to use a pick and your technique looks so good and versatile. How did you learn it? is there a term I should search to get some tutorials on it or is it just something you picked up yourself? great cover btw

hey tom! i use this strumming technique in so many diff songs, its inspired by elliott smith's strumming style. i loosely position my hand like im holding a pick, but only use my pointer finger and thumb. this song's specific pattern is DD DUDU DUDU DUDU. thumb for first down stroke, pointer finger for next three if that makes sense. its important not to strum too hard, more like ur grazing the strings. u could try looking up "elliott smith strumming" to see if theres anything similar but i didn't necessarily watch any tutorials to learn it. lmk if i should make a close up tutorial of it- hope that helps👍
