So, from what I gather, nothing happened to the bully because Yumi was thinking about Eri when they summoned Hanako. When you defeat Hanako, if you take Eri back with you then Hanako comes back and keeps going since the one cursed is still alive; if you don't take Eri back, she either presumably is killed by Hanako and the rumor starts up again, or Eri becomes the new Hanako in place of the old one. Then obviously, you drink the blood and you become Hanako, pretty self explanatory.

Also it's interesting that the bosses are also urban legends as well. Todomeki / Dodomeki: A creature whom has thousand of eyes around the body (notably arm). Japanese people believes that this is the punishment for thieves and burglars, as they will become one later when they died. Jorogumo: A spider whom can shapeshift into a woman / woman-spider or binding bride. They lures victims, usually male, and then haves them as a meal. Kubinashi: (only got this from a certain anime that has the character) A creature that has its head floats above their shoulder and has no neck.

Hanako-san has been portrayed as a benevolent spirit before as well as a vengeful one. Regarding her origins, some say she's a girl that died while playing hide and seek during an attack in WW2, others say she was a student that killed herself in a bathroom stall, while others say she was murdered by an abusive parent. There are many variations as to what happens once you manage to call Hanako-san: the person that called is dragged to Hell by Hanako, the person is granted a wish, the person is eaten by three-headed lizard who protects Hanako's privacy... I personally prefer the stories in which Hanako is a neutral yōkai, meaning her behaviour changes to adapt to that of who summoned her.

My school had a rumor that in the 5th classroom (the biology classroom) a teacher was murdered by a student by banging the teachers head on a desk because the student thought the teacher had a bias against them and thought the grades they were given were unfair. It was believed that to summon the teacher you need to go into the classroom at 12 AM, wait for 30 minutes, and then knock on the first desk in the 2nd row 23 times (because apparently the student had to bang the teacher's head against the desk 23 times) and say "Mr. Petrović, you forgot to grade the tests" and sit down in in the desk. A teacher should enter and tutor you. Once he's done, he'll give you a test with every question being about one of the human organs. If you fail the test, your organs in the questions you got wrong will fail and you will, surprise, die. I'll probably make a horror story for r/nosleep based on this

Ooooh shoot, I’ve heard this urban legend before! It’s called Hanako-San, it’s a game type thing that kids in Japan dare each other to do! The way the “game” is played (based on what I know) is you must go to your school’s female bathroom (usually if your school has levels, your supposed to go to the third floor) then knock 3 times on the third stall. Next, you are supposed to ask if Hanako-San is there. What is SUPPOSED to happen is she will answer yes, and you may have visions of her, or in extreme cases, she is said to grab you and drag you down the toilet into Hell. Scary stuff!

Can someone explain to me why so many games can never seem to get flashlight mechanics correct? A flashlight beam is not going to suddenly cease function 5ft away from the source. And then there are other games where the size of the beam changes depending on the distance of the terrain. I swear it's ladders and flashlights that seem to be the bane of game devs.

Lighting engines have gone backwards from the early to middish 2000s as console gaming and multiplayer structures got more popular. They're heavily demanding and require work to program and get right so they were the first things to make the cut to keep up with console hardware. Then as hardware caught up a bit useless feature bloat and overtly large dev studios meant it's still a cut feature as cinematic fidelity for cutscenes got chased. This leaves most games with barely a skeleton to work with as far as lighting goes and an indie dev for sure is not gonna have the know how to make proper lighting if a AAA studio doesn't. Same thing happened with destructible environments and physics systems along with fidelity and detail as game scope overruled game detail in what you want to allocate your memory resources to.

I think it's cool for Chilla's Art dev to try something new with the game mechanics, as they might want to appeal their games to those who kind of sees their older games as boring and lack action. But they still ground on the japanese culture as main theme, which is nice. Can't wait to see the other game types they will do.
