Just picked up my 3rd in this forge one is 1060 the others are 1095 and 9260. For the price these katanas are a real bargain.

@@83RedRum they are nice and tight the blade steels are what I'm liking. The hardware is OK the handle wrap looks durable. Nice blades.

Damn that looks nice! Does the '12 step hand polishing' already come with the 1095 clay tempered blades or do you have to specify it when ordering?
@83RedRum4 жыл бұрын
Comes with it

Looks amazing. Just the handle wrapping seems a bit off.
@83RedRum6 жыл бұрын
yes because i unwrapped the ito lol and did bad re-wrap not hanbons fault it was perfect before i messed it up
@fransthefox96826 жыл бұрын
Mr.Scorpio865 Oh. Alright. Thanks for telling me. Lol Why did you unwrap it?
@83RedRum6 жыл бұрын
Hmm i wanted to replace it with better ito and use hishigami when i did the tsuka maki hishigami give better shape to diamonds and make the wrap way tighter :P

Do you know if the black blade or Damascus would hold up well?

All I can say is that the one I bought from them does don't want to give false info 😃

How are the tsuba and the other fittings holding up? I just ordered a similar set-up but in 9260 spring steel.
@83RedRum5 жыл бұрын
They are still tight the only fitting issue i had was the end cap kashira idk if i spelled it right came off during hammering the mekugi out they put them in too tight so use care if you try to get them out other than that everything tight and perfect still

Beautiful blade but it does not seem like the ito was very well done. Seems to be very, very uneven spanning the whole length of the handle it seems which is something that I don't think my OCD can handle haha.

That was because in this video I had unwrapped it once lol

The sword is beautiful, but I wanted to know in a review, is how well it was built. Are the little brass fittings you showed off, fall off? Are they lose? Does the cotton handle feel lose? Anything wiggle on it??? Are things I wanna know please
@83RedRum6 жыл бұрын
To answer you the fittings had 0 wiggle and were extremely tight maybe a bit too tight as i can't remove the tsuka the wrapping was well done when it arrived really good and tight i changed it just because i wanted different wrapping the only real problem i had is the saya not locking properly the reason i choose hanbon was price and customization the quality of them is really great for those prices :)

Well mine took around two weeks but if it gets hung up in customs it can take longer assuming you are in the USA ofc

What's the difference between a 1095 katana and a clay tempered 1095 katana? Is it better or what does it actually mean?
@83RedRum5 жыл бұрын
To answer you the difference is clay tempered blades have a harder edge and stay sharp longer and the hamon line looks cool too :)
@jonnyspence55055 жыл бұрын
@@83RedRum so better than a plain 1095 then you say?
