Time passed. He always barked when the milkman came to our house until he got plenty of milk from him. We have two more street dogs, Bhuri (since 2021) and Smokey (since 2020). Bhuri is a very brave dog; she fought off parvovirus and survived. Smokey is more of a wanderer-he only comes to our house for a few hours, eats, and then leaves. Bhuri was loved the most because she was naughty and silly. Both Bhuri and Sheru used to play in the evening when we let Sheru off the leash. As time went on, I went away from home for my graduation. But whenever I returned home, Sheru would greet me with hugs and licks, and Bhuri would join in too. When I came home on the morning of August 23, Sheru was healthy and welcomed me with his usual hugs. On September 1, I went to the market, and when I returned, Sheru greet me with a hug, which felt strange to me. He seemed fine, and we went for a walk. But on the morning of September 2, Sheru became very weak and stopped eating, only drinking water. We gave him a lot of medication, but his body wasn’t responding. On September 4, 2024, at 12:34 PM, he left us. Now, Bhuri is feeling lonely. I’m afraid to go home, knowing no one will welcome me like he did. Goodbye, Sheru.
