Unique hand carved stone turtle, use a lot of details to express it, form the most primitive state of stone into a lifelike little turtle, this process is the most exciting,enjoy:)

That's very good work. A labor of love. The time or expense finding a stone, then waiting for stone to tell you what it wants to be. Then researching pictures for anatomy of turtle. maybe drawing it out, then tranfering idea to stone. Many hours carving,then sanding, then polishing, maybe adding a custom base. Then somone hems n haws about a 25$ price. Bums you out. Feels better to keep or give as present. Although, the thought crosses my mind, whats someone going to think when they find this peice years from now. It gives you kind of a legacy, your work lives on. Rock on !

Thank you very much for your understanding! Each piece of handmade work is unique and cannot be copied! I have been trying different materials over the years, to express different styles, I will not sell it for the sake of selling it, more is a kind of accumulation, but also a memorial to my ten years of continuous exploration of sculpture! Only in the hands of those who understand it, it really has life!

What were the different rotary bits you used for this project and type of rotary tool itself? You did an amazing job making this turtle, by the way!!

Thank you for your praise! I used a lot of grinding heads to carve this work, which is mainly divided into two categories. One is for cutting large ones, mainly round wafer and trapezoidal grinding heads, and some of them use round grinding heads. The rest is the grinding head used to carve the details, mainly small cones, round slices, needle and ball shapes. I have three types of carving machines, mainly buffalo, foredom, and mastercarver micro motor.

i always had trouble carving turtles and frogs. Thank you....where did you get that adjustable water jet thing? RSVP

I DIY this sprinkler ten years ago, I bought the small water cylinder sprinkler from Amazon and the adjustable nozzle from China, so that I could cool my grinding head while I carved the stone.😀

Water and electricity with a Dremel? Is this safe?
@jasonmanystrings
@jasonmanystrings 7 ай бұрын
Just keep the water where the stone cutting action is and don't pour it on the Dremel. Also loop your Dremel cord so it drips and doesn't run water into the outlet lol

The engraving tool I used, Micro motor, is similar to the way a dentist needs to spray water to cool down a patient's teeth. The water does not enter the handle😊

@@jasonmanystringsI was thinking the same thing lol .. even with a cordless rotary tool I would worry about shorting out the motor or something...
