This is wild. We can slowly decouple medicine from expensive technology and bring the cost of treatment down by reversing engineering advanced machinery into hand powered tools. More advanced medical examinations techniques can become more common in places without the dedicated infrastructure. This device is absolutely essential!

This is great. I wonder what it would take to get it up to higher speeds, but still be manually operated.

The way I would solve that is by using two motors that at the same voltage one that turns very fast and one that turns very slow, i would put a crank to the slow motor to use it as generator and the fast motor would use it to turn the rotor. That way the mechanical efficiency is high without being too complex, should be very reliable as well tough significantly bulkier.

Can we use it for prp separation ?

Yes... Precipitates will anyway separate by gravity itself. But suspensions and even colloids can be separated by a centrifuge

If we could mass produce these with cheaper materials it would be of great use in 3rd world countries!
