This is so lovely. I would even consider making ribbon to wrap around the Christmas tree. On the back I would even consider covering the back for an enhanced decorative view. Thank you
@janillingsworth747811 ай бұрын
I would use a repeated fly stitch for the trees. This would be quicjer and look much nicer on the back. Tying off your work is a good idea not just to make the back look neater but also to prevent the cinching in of your ribbon and catching the ribbon on things when you use the ribbon. I love embroidering ribbons. They make really nice unique trims.❤❤❤

Amazon has tons of things to use for this craft, little packages, wreaths, strings of lights that light up. It's under dollhouse items. Really cute. Thanks for the great idea.

This is lovely, but I would not travel with the embroidery thread across the back. It will just get caught on things, once you decide to use the ribbon. At the very least, anchoring stitches before traveling (and after) will help prevent warping. Also, there are lots of stitches you can use to make the back look like the front. It's alright if things take longer or take extra time - all good things are worth the effort.

You might benefit by looking up embroidery stitches. There are many books and tutorials that teach the stitches. Also, you mention using a hoop for stability. Fabrics such as velvet, velour and corduroy get hoop burn marks that can't be removed.

I would use the finished ribbon stitched down around the edge of a pillow or other small project. Then the messy side of the ribbon would be hidden. You could stitch it down by hand or machine.

Ah thank you! In my instagram example video I used one around a small basket, you could use it like as a tie on the top of a bag even! It might look nice wrapped around a tea towel, napkins, or a little cookware set! Perhaps even added to a wine bottle!

I would probably use the fly stitch for the trees. The whipped backstitch could be done with a tapestry needle (no sharp point) the weave those base stitches. It would be easier for you. I love the creativity here. I’ve been working wi5 Sue Spargo stitches and taking classes using embroidery stitches. So I’m just showing off now 😂. I just see easier ways of doing these. I will be looking for this velvet ribbon. Never heard of it
