My mother was an upholsterer she worked on everything from museum items to airplanes and boats. She passed away at the age of 45 in 2008 and I was young, still am but I forgot I knew how to do this until I saw this video. I bought myself a kit and that's what I'll be doing tomorrow to celebrate her on mothersday. Thank you🕯️❤️
@RedDesertRoz4 ай бұрын
Yeah my mum was a very talented dressmaker, and did exquisite hand embroidery. She taught me when I was young, and as I grew up, she taught me many skills in sewing and needlework, some of which, like you, I am now dusting off as they have not been used in some time. We lost her just before Mothers Day this year, and in her last days, I made clothes for a bear for her to keep her company when we could not be by her side, and my daughter made it with me, learning the basics of sewing and embroidery as we went. It was such a special gift, as it was not only a special friend for her in those last difficult days, it represented the love of all the family as the bear was taken to all the family to put some love and hugs into before being given to Mum, and it also represented the passing on of Mum's wonderful skills to the next generation. When we gave it to her, she looked up at my daughter and said, "I'm speechless". Love you so much, Mum, and miss you every day, but your legacy lives on.

You make it seem so simple that I have been inspired to learn. I will buy some embroidery needles, thread, and the frame and try to follow you. I once had all of these things when I was a young girl. Thank you for the lesson.

have you done it? I wanna get into embroidery, but got sewing thread before i knew i was supposed to get embroidery thread. Imma make it work, though
@leeannmettlach24122 жыл бұрын
Me, too! The only thing I ended up doing with the thread was making friendship bracelets! Our girls loved making them & they did them to pass the time on car trips! Now, my granddaughters make them. Maybe, I'll break mine out again!

If you can, watch the video on your TV. Get comfortable in your favorite chair or on your couch and have the remote next to you, so you can go back when you need to see something more than once, or for when you need to pause. Good luck! I hope you're enjoying the learning process!

I am so grateful to have found this particular video. It's been many years since I last embroidered and couldn't remember some stitches. I didn't want a lot of talk, just a demo, this video hit the spot. Thank you so much for making it easy to relearn

I've recently decided to start learning embroidery, after doing cross-stitch for about 15 years and crochet for 7. I bought a beginner's embroidery kit with all the basics I need and a book that explains the stitches, but I was having some trouble understanding how to make the knots, and the stem stitch didn't make much sense either. This video is exactly what I needed to figure them all out - easy to follow and straight to the point. Thank you!
@lizzies9307 Жыл бұрын
Thank you for this, this is exactly what I needed, such a simple and clear way to show us all the different techniques. I'm just starting to learn because I decided I'd like to customize a jean jacket that I have, and I had bought a whole kit thinking it would show me how, but it doesn't have very clear instructions at all. This is MUCH better, and I feel confident now that I'll be able to get started 😊

For the rose you must know this: Don't pull the string tightly, just leave it around the circle without tightening, because it wont work if you tighten it!

I 've recently become interested in embroidery. haven't yet bought my embroidery stuff, I kept watching tutorials on Pinterest but they show it so fast I couldn't pick up on it. This is at the right speed for a beginner, and has increased my interest. Already subscribed, time to go shopping. Thank you for sharing this.

I remember doing some of these stitches when I was young but having a video to show each of these stitches is sooo helpful. Thanks to You Tube I can start embroidering again! Thank you so much for sharing so this art can be saved and passed onto generations to come!
