How do you know how long the string needs to be? What if you’re too short

Hello Danna, I normally start with a thread length that I am comfortable to handle. If it is too short to finish the petal/leaf, I simply end stitching with that thread, secure it (by tying a knot) from the backside, re-thread the needle and restart stitching.❤ Hope my answer will help 💐

How do you thread your needle? I’m using a six-strand embroidery thread, but my petal turned out really thick. You look like you are using one thread, and mine looks like two. How do you thread your needle?

I am also using 6 strands. Here I am using a satin stitch application. If you closely look at 0:57 to 1:00 of the video you can see that I am inserting down the needle a bit away from the bottom edge. This is the technique I used to avoid a bulky petal. If you insert all the stitches down at the very bottom of the petal, it will look bulky. So for some stitches, inserting the needle down a little bit away from the bottom edge of the petal should be done. Make sure, the stitches you make after will cover these specific stitches, so that you get a smooth look for your petal. Hope my answer will help you. Thank you so much 🥰🥰

Hi Storm, Yes, this will go well with a hoodie. I personally prefer Cotton & Linen fabrics for embroidery & Here I have used cotton embroidery thread. Hope my answer would help you. :)
