Hi! So beautiful! What do you use u see the paper as you poke through?

Thank you! I'm not sure I understand the question. What do I use to poke the holes? It's an awl for paper embroidery. What do I use as a cushion when punching? It is a piece of styrofoam. Hopefully that helps.
