I havent experienced any noticable reduction in the duration of the stream compared to other unmodified bottles. Hi buddy. No email as yet I'm afraid. The hole is to allow a small amount of air into the mixture as its drawn up the suction tube. In turn this starts the 'turbulance' process. The reason I have it so close to the head of the sprayer is so it isnt submerged in liquid during operation, ensuring adequate air can be drawn into your solution. I hope this explains
