When you cast off at the end it looks beautiful. But the hat wouldn't be washable because you not making any knots. Is there any way to knot it so it doesn't come off when you wash it come apart?

All knots are tucked in. Chunky chenille yarn is holding really well when washed with tucked in ends. It is easily washable: in a washing mesh with a full load washing machine

You can tuck in the yarn inside and have a hat with no pom pom
