Hand-making Silver Lockets Using A Hydraulic Press

This video is a way for me to share the process I use to craft unique lockets. I use the hydraulic press to create vintage designs in 3D silver and then dome them front and back as matched sets. The fabrication process is fairly standard, but I try to illustrate key steps that are used.

I wonder if you could dome it using a wooden dapping block without ruining the impression? Also the Profesional edition of The Complete Metalsmith has more detailed info I think. I have both but I haven't looked at them in a little while!

Thanks. I have the capability to go 20-25 tons but typically am only pressing at 5-15. Being clever with pushers and concentrating force is more important tat tonnage
