Do you have any tips for breaking up scar tissue in your hand? I cut off two fingers and had them reattached. I've been cleared by my doctor and occupational therapist to do any massages or whatever else I want (actually that was like 3 years ago). Would a spa be capable of handling scar tissue, or is there some other specialist?

That's definitely a medical question as you need to know what's causing the tingling and burning. Best see your GP.

It would really depend on doctor's advice and the individual's situation. Best ask a GP's advice when relating to a medical issue :)

do you suffer with pain in your hands from being a therapist? I heard they are more likely to develop arthritis etc?
@homespabeauty10 жыл бұрын
Therapists who work continuously massaging can start to suffer aches, pains and conditions such as carpal tunnel and repetitive strain. You have to find the balance for you and sometimes this is why therapists choose to work for themselves, as not all employers can be flexible with your individual needs. There are hand and wrist exercises that you can perform to benefit you as a therapist too :)

I get cramps on the hand that's massaging the other.
@homespabeauty11 жыл бұрын
Best thing to do in that situation is perform one movement on one hand and then swap to do the same movement on the other, rather than working on one hand for a longer time. This should hopefully prevent cramp developing.

never do most of the stuff in this video! I'm a LMT and trust me shes doing more harm then good her technique is way off and most people really need to stay away from stretching their already chronically over stretched wrist flexers
@homespabeauty8 жыл бұрын
Err... so am I Robby so how did I manage to get to this ripe old age with my hands intact? This is a relaxation video and not promoted as a remedial massage video. As an LMT I'd expect you to follow the code of conduct and not bad mouth a fellow therapist!
@robby28678 жыл бұрын
first off no you aren't me and its weird that you'd ask, second what part of the code of conduct says I can't point out your techniques aren't going to help anyone? and if someone without an education in body work watches your video I want them to at least have a chance of not further hurting them selfs
@homespabeauty8 жыл бұрын
Eh? Following a professional code of conduct isn't becoming another person and isn't weird for asking. Your sweeping statement aside, keep calm Robby but you should know that people self massage all time through instinct...without a qualification! Don't worry though, they can look after themselves and know the difference between a KZbin tutorial for some tips and a personal, consultation lead massage. Talking a fellow therapist down doesn't do you any good, so draw a line under it and go and have a great day!
