I am a Holistic Doctor with a phD in Alternative Medicine and I have been raving about raw goat not for so many years! I absolutely loved this video you said it all in a short amount of time and easy to understand for most people ! 👍 I have been drinking raw goat milk for about 20 years but I worked so much that I had to buy it from other people. I drink 2 qts a day. Last year I stopped counseling and moved up to the Ozarks to Homestead and I have my own goats now that I have been milking 2 since spring! But right now I have four pregnant does. After the babies are weaned I will be making cheese for the 1st time can't wait!! Thank you for your wonderful channel!😊

I was highly lactose intolerant in my teens, and tried store bought, pasteurized goat milk… I hated it. It tasted goat-y and gross. Then my Doe got pregnant, and I finally tried fresh raw goat milk. Absolutely wonderful, completely different from what I bought at the grocery store.

This commenter watched his grandfather milk goats. This commenter coached a national champion wrestling team. When "she gets kicky" a key factor is the milker's left arm ABOVE the doe's knee. You can be aware and block just one inch lower and her shin will slide over your block. Another solution, from my Grandad, is to install a board in the milking stanchion that separates the teats and the hind legs. The doe can elevate and advance her front legs to get into position, but that low board blocks the rear knee from lifting the foot to upset the pail. BUT.. to help the doe exit, install the board in a pair of side rails, so it can be removed with a simple pull. If my explanation is unclear, I'll clarify. I love what you're doing, and clearly I'm 3rd generation goat milk beneficiary!

Great video, thank you. I live in Australia and my wife and I don't have a massive property, just a home and we have two mini goats and 5 chickens, we also grow our own vegetables. I agree, people should get these amazing animals. Our son loves them and they love him, the bond they have is incredible. Keep doing what you are doing!

Thanks Marc! I use goat milk for my puppies. I have had mother's milk fail and I had to take over (sounds like a chore, but I really loved doing it). Goat milk was the solution. Much better, IMO, than that powder stuff. By week three I would start to blend the adult dry food with the goat milk to make a mush, and by six weeks, the pups were on an adult diet. This was true even when mom's milk was fine. I would start my pups on mush using goat milk twice per day, both to prepare them for an adult diet and to give mom a break. Cheers.

Goat breath and hot goat milk are 2 of my favorite smells. I just started milking goats 6 months ago. It’s really interesting the similarities between milking a goat and nursing my own babies. For example, it just takes some time to get to know each other, and learn each other’s anatomy and needs and habits. Each goat’s body needs to learn to let their milk down for hand milking, or for a machine, and it takes a little while for her body to “get it.” But once you get the hang of each other, holy delicious! We got our very first milk goats about 6 months ago, and we’ve definitely hit our rhythm. (Ninja pail defense included.) All of my goats are smaller - 3 mini Nubians and 1 Nigerian dwarf, with 2 more minis arriving this week. Thank heaven they were bred intentionally, and have nice, loooong teats.

Bella is so sweet and patient. I started out with a grade NubianxBoerxSaanen. The milk was so sweet. It took three lactations of milking school for me before Becky was a good milker ( no foot in the bucket out of spite) I think that beginners tend to pinch off too high on the teat which can be uncomfortable for the doe. Maybe Becky was trying to tell me to improve my milking skills.

100% I believe you are correct. egg prices are high. I did read some stuff about how the lack of fertilizer has shorted hay to the point cattle farmers sold mass percentages of cattle off. I love our gots milk it is wonderful. our La Mancha girls have nice big udders and decent size teats wish they were a bit larger but still manageable

this was my first year milking. I was nervous cause all the bad I had heard. none of it was true. I milked chilled and next morning got my first sip I was like wow most amazing taste and very easy on the stomach ( cows milk doesn't agree with me to well ) I cooked with it. absolutely amazing. you can't beat a goat on milk.

Great to[pic and truth bombs! You should check out our channel Marc, we are primarily dairy but from running the dairy herd the goats are essentially the center of the entire operation. We are growing our channel with more vids . I think I told you before that after a month of drinking raw goats milk all my allergies went away. Goats really did change our lives. But any way, would love to get to know ya. We are currently rebuilding everything here in Washington from nothing after a big loss in Wyoming so we should be putting out some good videos. Haha Bucket ninja!

Some Nigerian dwarfs can have great udders and some are terrible. Recently got a Nigerian dwarf doe in milk who has huge udders ideal for milking. She is from a dairy line bred specifically for milk. Also have a different doe with an unknown background who is itty bitty and not great for hand milking so it’s just all about genetics and the individual.

My main concerns with owning a goat like this one now are do I have time to milk it 8 times and can I let her forage on a zip line? I could be really resourceful with its feed but doesn't having milk mean that you have at least 3 goats? I live in town on about 1 acre.
