I actually followed this video today , keeping my elbows bent at 45 degrees so that my thumbs almost touched my nipples and your video about the difference between walking and running and tried lift my upper leg as opposed to my lower leg . I had to learn somewhat and my limitations are a problem ( bunion on my right toe, very tight hips, trouble dorsiflexing) but it actually felt reasonably good. Today I tried holding my Hands open as If I am going to Shake Someone's Hand and My run was So much more relaxed.

Is there a difference between swinging your arms straight vs moving it as you suggest closer to body and almost across your chest?

Eliud kipchoge moves his hands in a elliptical circular motion, his hands never cross mid line of chest

An elliptical movement is not too far off but I wouldn't describe it as circular - in our most recent video you can see some footage of his arm swing as well. Normally I describe an ideal arm swing as a pendulum motion from the elbow, and Eliud is pretty close to that.
