There is no real intersex. Extremely rare cases of XXY genes exist, but what the gender activists usually mean is simply DSD (such as a micro penis or internal gonads). These people still have a clear sex, just look at these recent "women" boxers in the Olympics. Guaranteed they would not pass the hand sniff test.

I rather doubt this is a tool that would be used to nail down a conviction. It seems more like a tool to direct focus onto a specific group of suspects. But obviously, if it suggests you're looking for a male and all the males have alibis, one would need to look at the potential female suspects. The reason trans people aren't mention in the study is because the study used the traditional use of the word "gender" to differentiate between male and female. VS2 is using "gender" in the title because it's currently a buzzword. The procedure is detecting sex.

Heads up the hand study has a sample size of about 60 people. Going to need more research for anything conclusive, but it's better than nothing. Here's how they collected the data: "Each subject was instructed to not wash their hands for a minimum of one hour prior to sampling. Hand odor was collected from each subject while sitting indoors. A pretreated 2 in. x 2 in., 12ply, 100% cotton DUKAL gauze was swiped on each palm of the hands and then squeezed between the palms for 10 min. Also feel like it's worth pointing out, the study reads at a 96% accuracy, or about 5% margin, or 1 in 20, meaning in 60 persons there's maybe 3 misidentifications.
