Love the way this came out Roy! I’ve been experimenting with leaving the sky alone with some of my images and really like the look. Not sure what soft pastels you are using, but with mine I find that when I take a q-tip or cotton round to them and rub off the color, the pastel gets a sheen to it, and the color becomes harder to remove. I found that roughing up the face of the pastel with an x-acto knife allows the color to be transferred much more easily. Hope you have a great holiday!

Hi Dan! They're Rembrandt Extra Fine Soft Half Pastels. I actually also use them for regular pastel paintings (now and then) so typically they're already pretty roughed up, but yes, you're right on an unused side they're very smooth and it needs some roughing up.
