I agree that they are Genius. I have the neverfull inside out in the black leather and I’m obsessed. I also have the classic. Louis Vuitton is not the only brand to “reinvent” the classics, every other brand does it and I think there is a huge market for it. It does however also feel like fast fashion at times. They’re continuously bringing out new bags that it feels so overwhelming at times.

I think it's a bit outrageous for people to be walking around a big city with a $10,000+ designer bag on their arm, you might as well hold up a "please rob me" sign. Secondly, I really don't feel sorry for these brands, they raise their prices at least twice a year, so basically they are driving any potential customers into buying fakes. *gtdupe*

I also have a Coach from 2010 that is reversible and I’d say it’s just an unnecessary hassle to keep turning them. But the soft Speedy is my cup of tea :)

Yes I agree, sometimes reversible seem like a good idea but realistically probably not used that often due to the hassle of turning. Yes the speedy does look pretty cool

Thank you for sharing! I got the new Speedy Soft 30 Dark and I love it! So cool and edgy and convenient. The shoulder handle is perfect for shoulder carry - who would have guessed?! But a long shoulder strap is missing! I have one matching strap but LV should have added a long strap instead of the chain. BTW: When will LV finally sell single straps of all kinds? Due to the soft canvas the bag can lay flat to the body if you don‘t use an insert - I use a small one so I get a slouchy but not flat appearence. And the inside is leather lined. Gorgeous bag 🖤🖤🖤

Hi Steph! I agree with you. It’s genius marketing if you ask me. What’s old is new again and LV is a master at generating a buzz. I bought a Neverfull way back in the day for $960 and recently sold it for $1200. It did tug at my heart strings a little to let it go but there are soooo many bags out there and so little time! 🛍️ I’m very interested in the soft leather Speedy. I love leather so much more than canvas that I’m willing to pay extra for it. You look so pretty Steph! Its a long weekend in Canada and I’m catching up on your vlogs, alongside my chubby corgi! 🐶 💛

Keep me updated if you decide to get a soft speedy, I think the update is really smart. Sad that some of the new soft speedy bags don't also have a longer strap, however to crossbody them.

Genius - they’ve spent very little on new designs but are charging higher prices, and selling loads! If I were to buy one it would be the reversible in leather, always use an organiser insert to keep it clean then you can reverse whenever you like ❤️.

I’m not happy the regular speedy has been discontinued I wanted to get me & my daughter one & I don’t like the big strip of canvas up the side as I’d never wear a 30 crossbody.

I just bought the Soft Speedy Dark 30 - my very first speedy. It’s super soft and the leather interior feels luxurious. The bag is lighter than expected and it’s super slouchy. Therefore, if you like a more structured bag, you will definitely need a bag insert or save the money and just get the regular canvas speedy. I love the black leather accents and the silver hardware, which makes the bag look chic (in my opinion). However, for the price you are paying - the short non adjustable leather strap was an absolute fail for me. It’s not super comfortable and kind of pointless. Now is the bag really worth over $3000? I don’t think any bag really is BUT it’s really all subjective. Honestly, I only had the bag for a couple days, but I am obsessed! It’s quickly becoming my go to bag - easy to use and pretty carefree. If I’m thinking in terms of cost per use, I feel I’m going to get my money’s worth. Hope this information is helpful for anyone interested in a soft canvas speedy 😊

Oh they are pure genius. I mean look at how many of us are talking about them. And if you look at all the unboxings there are many people buying them. So before you cast doubt on them, remember, they are trying to grab new clients. They dont care about us old customers, we have our bags and continue to rummage in the back of our closets to dust them off and show them off.

Yes true, they are updating them for new customers to try and get them into the brand - I guess the difference is the price point on these new pieces aren't really 'entry level' but makes the whole range seem more on-trend and cooler, maybe equalling more sales of their entire Speedy & Neverfull range. Smart business decision.

I think it's just a logical business decision to milk a piece that's selling well to the max. Creativity is missing unfortunatley. However, I do like the soft speedy a lot! If you're going to charge massively for a bag, at least use genuine leather, not canvas... I can never justify their prices of canvas bags.

IMHO the inside-out Neverfull is truly lazy design and nothing but a desperate attempt to generate hype sales at an increased price point (see insane influencer gifting) and feels SO cheap. I played with one in Harrods and the canvas was so much thinner than my 2016 GM. I hope that's not the new LV canvas which will be used across all canvas pieces going forward. The Speedy is somewhat more creative with the leathers. There's my tuppence! 😆

I would pass on the Neverful but like the updated Speedy. I think the Neverful is overpriced. I bought one about 10 years ago and it was 900USD for a GM. Can’t bring myself to pay 3000USD. I know there will always be price increases but it’s just not worth it to me.

I've got a Neverfull it's been my go to bag until I've got kids where I start to feel more comfortable wearing crossbody bags (easier for chasing my kids around). So I've added some o rings and a long strap to it. Now my neverfull tote become a crossbody! So I'm amazed at the new updated version tbh, it seems that LV really keep up with how their customers where their bags. Maybe their research team seen some street style photos and incorporated to the design idea? I think last year they released some bags with hair clip on the handle. Well I used to put my hairclips on my bags for easy reach! Inspired by some kpop artists who do that. So yes I love the new version! I'm loving mini canvas leather one it's on my wishlist

The facelift version of the Speedy is overpriced. It's just not worth it to me. I am happy with the regular Speedy. I am not a fan of the Neverfull. I never liked the straps. The new version does not impress me. Neither update improves the original and are lazy. I will be spending my money elsewhere.

I do think with them stopping the pouch / limiting the strap usage on some of the updates is a sneaky way for you to want other versions of them too.
