Steve takes on the Steel Rail Marathon in Pittsfield, Massachusetts... um, twice (you'll see).
For 13.1 miles, the course follows the Ashuwillticook Rail Trail along a former railroad corridor from Pittsfield through Cheshire and Adams, MA -- and then returns to Pittsfield to finish off the 26.2. Incredible views of the Cheshire Reservoir, mountains, bridges and even a waterfall along the way.
No other handcyclists had participated in this race before, but the organizers were incredibly supportive! The course is perfectly accessible, mostly flat, smooth and *super fast*! I would strongly encourage athletes with disabilities to try this one out. It's a Boston certified qualifier, to boot.
