This very impressive rod was engineered for distance casting! It's a spinning class rod, 8'6" in length, medium heavy rating, moderate fast reaction & in 2pc. Also a really nice rod case is included for free. This light-weight rod was designed using a 30-ton carbon blank for long distance applications. To help cast farther Seaguide LS Guides were used to achieve this. This rod is rated for 15-30g.
Also the handle is composed of 30-ton carbon with a nylon seat & EVA was added for grip. The handle was reversed-wrapped for that feeling of "continuity" with the sides at 80°. There are 11 casting & 12 spinning models all at 6'6" to 8'6" in ML, Med, & MH. This rod was designed for distance casting. It is sensitive to the slightest nibbles & carries a 1yr Full Warranty. Price started around $38 when they first contacted me, then shot up to $61 but on Amazon you can get it for around $54 now. Free shipping with a free case bag. You can tell when something is "exceptional" by how it's built & how it feels. This is one of them. Much beefier than the Magic L i received earlier. That one i can shore jig 1/2 to 3/4oz at 8ft with a ML rating. But this one is at 8'6" with a MH rating & a much better build. I forgot to mention in this review how beefy the ferrule connection feels as well. I have a Handing 4K reel coming in 2 days with a 27lb max & a Shimano rear drag Sienna 4K as more of a finesse type of reel also arriving this week. Night have to use the beefier Handing 4K spinner on this one & use the 4K Sienna finesse spinner on the 8ft Magic L rod instead. Still waiting for my special order of braid to arrive this week as well.

Waiting for a reel to arrive just for this rod. And the spool of line as well. Seems the initial review caught on as i was just informed today that this rod has just sold out from the distributor who sent it to me. I'm not in a rush though. After awhile i can tell if a rod is "the one" not only by the stats but the way it feels & how it was put together. Up till now never seen this type of workmanship of a rod around $60. And it started out much cheaper as well. MSRP for anything close to this should be around 150 minimum starting MSRP.. Right now it is the best rod they offer from what i can tell. The 2 Magic "L"'s also sent are close seconds but not in this class. For the first time ever this rod has a friction tight connection so airtight that it's a slow fit when compressing the air in the ferrule connection gap. That really blew me away.

Rod is great used it to surf fish and caught some good sized halibut.

The Mirage that i just got is 8'6" and rated 15-30g so yes, 1oz shouldn't be a problem. @@dkyeng
