Hi David, thanks for this. What headlight are you using with the loupes? I've heard mixed reviews about some of the lights from Zeiss.

Calum Imray i am using LED from Univet Italy. No so bad but still having some problems. Battery especially

@@davidgerdolle what's wrong with the battery? I work with Chinese light, it works at full power for 7-8 hours, but since I have 3.5 binoculars, I set it to the minimum and it lasts for several weeks. I recently changed it to wireless with two batteries.

Dear David, I wouldn't recommend wearing your apple watch (or any other kind of jewelry) during treatment :)

Why do you take off the loupes and don't use flip up function ?
@davidgerdolle3 жыл бұрын
Cause then the setting and position isn’t exactly the same

This seems very inefficient to me. Why not do everything under the scope and reduce time by not having to switch between the scope and your loupes?
@davidgerdolle6 жыл бұрын
Christopher Spears i don’t believe in one single way of doing things. Mixing both loupes and microscope seems an ideal compromise according to my skills. You might prefer the scope to do the whole thing, why not ? I prefer for some parts the “liberty” of quick moves and different point of view that provide the loupes

@@davidgerdolle , I think like you and do the job the same way. By the way, I already tried working only with microscope and working only with loupes; and I came to the conclusion that mixing both lead me to reach better performance.

I some what agree with Christopher here, but then I think "why not use 6x loupes the whole time? There is significant inital capital expense associated with the scope. This is a very tough decision. I am a gp and do lots of different procedures. Going back and forth would drive me crazy. But perhaps as suggested:the result is just that much better. Another question: why use loupes to put on a rubber dam? Seems this is done fine without loupes. No?
@dr.yuriiedn Жыл бұрын
@@drsaintdc That's a very funny comment. I also don't think there are any arguments or advantages to wearing a rubber dam with loupes other than two: It looks cool, I can afford it. The second point that worries me is that in magnifiers, when installing a rubber dam, due to defocusing, my eyes get tired
