DENJIRO: This is a handmade battery made using charcoal. When we take the aluminum foil off, fine bits of charcoal are spread out. Let me introduce to you how you can make a homemade battery!
After you have a barbeque, there are leftover bits of charcoal. You can actually make batteries with them. However, you can't create a battery with the charcoal as it is. We need to burn the leftover charcoal even more at a higher temperature by fanning it well. We then extinguish it. Charcoal on its own has high electrical resistance and doesn't conduct much electricity. But by sending more air to it and burning it at a higher temperature, the structure changes so that it conducts electricity very well.
Crush the burned charcoal into finer bits. Place a piece of parchment paper on top of aluminum foil and soak it with salt water. On top of that, spread the crushed charcoal powder. Now, the handmade battery is finished!
Place a piece of aluminum foil on top of the charcoal so the battery can be connected to something. Connect one wire to the aluminum foil on the bottom and connect the other wire to the aluminum foil on top. Then, press firmly onto the battery. See, it works like an actual battery!
When aluminum and charcoal are connected together, the salt water melts the aluminum, releasing negative electrons. The oxygen within the charcoal receives the electrons, and that is how a circuit is formed.
You could create a fire using this device! Prepare six of these handmade batteries, line them up in a series, and connect steel wool to the circuit. The wires of steel wool are very fine, so they can catch fire easily. The heat generated by the flow of electricity caused the steel wool to catch fire.
I hope energy will bring you all happiness. Our magic word is "Happy Energy!"
