Hey I figured out how to watch this for free! You need 'tunnelbear' VPN. This will 'spoof' your location to make it seem like you are in the united kingdom. Super easy to use. Just click the UK, then click 'turn on'. Here is the pro tip: you are capped for how much data you can use as a free member BUT if you just keep trying to turn off tunnelbear mid-stream it wont always instantly stop you. When I stop tunnelbear (turning it off) when the ads are running sometimes it forgets to re-check where my location is so I can save the data limit and continue to watch. If it gives you trouble just turn bear back on and press refresh :D Personally I put something in front of my screen to block the sign language element (not seen in this video somehow) because you cant turn it off. Its annoying but w/e.

I do feel that two days is a cruel time-frame in which to produce a masterpiece!
@bobhiggins57732 ай бұрын
Do you really believe that they only have 2 days, most of the projects in previous episodes would take an accomplished woodworker more than 2 days, look at the laminated projects I know from experiance that would take way longer taking into account cutting the laminations on a bandsaw, then thicknessing them all in a drum sander to same thickness and glue drying time then and dont forget making the forms they use to bend around. In one episode they supposedly remade parts on the 2nd day and they where dry enough to machine down, joint, sand and apply finish that is dry all in one day. Also you have to take into account they do another challenge which sometimes 90 minutes so more time they dont have to work on the project. The presenters talk about it being week 1 or 2 or 3 so my guess is they actually have the whole week or at least 3 to 4 days to do these challenges.

Asking wooodworkers to produce a sculpture, makes no sense - the judges seem to go off brief on a regular basis

It's wood and it worked

If you're equal in all other aspects but one can create sculptures, then the sculptor just has more skills. It's actually a great idea.

The lack of propper hand tools is what strikes me, the guy using a claw hammer instead of an adze for example.
@2adamast15 күн бұрын
@@amieffects5754 Not sure one can master a new tool like an adze and win time, but some tools like saws and chisels were undersized, they were forced to do 10 inch cuts with 9 tpi saws
@amieffects575415 күн бұрын
@@2adamast Yes exactly, that time frame was unrealistic to produce a detailed sculpture with undersized tools.

The variety of projects is great. Need big chainsaws.

Giving them that big of a chunk of wood and not a decent size chainsaw or axe is nuts.

Why don't they have a chain saw?
@jackiegammon2065Ай бұрын
I think that the two days were a very short amount of time considering what the judges expected. I think their expectations were too high for the amount of time given, and considering that they started with a blob of wood... I think they all did quite well.

The judges are always very negative 😢 But I do ❤ this program!

Yes, time is indeed a nasty aspect in this format. I love the woodworking process itself, for me the result is a nice to have. But I understand that for the masses the main attraction is the drama that comes with the clock.

Please chance the name of this program into ; brittain's best woodsculpter . The current name is an insult for true woodworkers, as are the two judges !
@mannurse742126 күн бұрын
This is not how this kind of woodworker would make a good sculpture. If you wanted to do this give them smaller logs chainsaws and a skills challenge or smaller log and arbor craft discs. If you this kind of woodworker to make a sculpture something more delicate that’s doweled together or chiseling out reliefs

These are not woodworkers. Chipping with a claw hammer? These are teenagers with tools. Insult to real woodworkers. 😢

Actually pro framers do do that, if not on a massive sculpture. If they aren't going to have chainsaws (does the UK have certifications, or insurance issues?), they should get the correct axes, guttering axes, froes, etc...
