Nichol, I think I have already said but I love critters and no matter how they are arranged on a card I love each and every card. Critters just make a card, although they do have to be put together correctly otherwise they may not work as well. But I love the fact that the bear was a polar bear, but on a different card he could be a brown bear; with a scarf now thanks to you Nichol. Thank you for sharing this project with us crafters. :O)

When that much care goes into a gift card holder, that's a gift, too! I think that the bear might also be very versatile all year. Thanks for the video, and have a lovely holiday. :o)

So very cute. I am disappointed that I would need to purchase so many items if I were to recreate.

These characters are adorable. That was quite a lot of little pieces to keep track of and you did it with ease. Thanks for the cute lesson. (I guess I know what to put on my wishlist...)

I don't agree with gift cards, certainly easy but no thought goes into buying a gift card, lazy man or womans way out! Love your card holders anyways!

With all due respect.. When loved ones are a very long way away.. the cost of shipping takes away from the total amount you could "gift them" .. A gift card provides a way to give them the full amount of "love" you want to. Then, and I know personally.... there are those.. who prefer a gift card ... the incredibly difficult (impossible) to shop for .. It is better in these cases to allow the person to pick out something they would really love instead of tossing your carefully thought out and purchased gift aside or in the back of a closet. Gift cards have their place. Even the most careful and sensitive shoppers , at times.. need to used the benefits of a gift card... : >

I suppose you are right Sharon, they have their place, when I made my comment I was thinking more about the people that are closest to us in proximity, getting a gift card from my brother irritates me to no end, knowing he/they couldn't be bothered to actually put some thought into finding the perfect gift. Wouldn't be hard to find me something I love just go to the closest craft store!

I love buying physical gifts but there are times that a gift card is what the recipient wants (i.e. my older niece and nephew and my older kids want itunes cards so they can download music or apps or coffee cards to their favorite coffee shop) and when my kids were in elementary school I would tuck a gift card into their teacher's gift basket. Their teachers always had to spend so much out of pocket that I liked to give them Wal-Mart cards to help with the cost of supplies but I always gave an actual gift, too. It's always a bummer when the recipient doesn't put thought into the gift. My kids just went through that with the other side of their family last weekend so I definitely know where you're coming from! Happiest of Holidays to you!

I also prefer gift cards for things like music, books, etc. These are very "personal" items, choice-wise. Unless the recipient asks for a particular item, it can be hard to know what s/he wants in that area. In our family, we always have wish lists that we exchange, to help each other know what we really want. I tend to find (in our family, anyway) that it's when people go "off script" that sometimes even "thoughtful" gifts can be tossed aside, donated, or re-gifted, because they're really not what the recipient wants or can use. In such cases, I feel a gift card would be much more appropriate. So yes, gift cards can and do have their place. :)
